Avaya ip office 9504 phones doesnt come up in Rls 9.0.6 after downloading the fw

Hi,
I have come across a strange issue in IP Office 9504 phones.
I tried uploading the firmware 9500R55.bin and 9500BootR15.bin files in memory card. Also tried from Tfttp..
point is the phone downloads the firmware but after going on to 100% sinply says download denied and doesnt come up.
I used the same phone on rls 8.1.79 with 9500R45.bin and it powered up properly.
Kindly let me know what more i need to do,,

Hi,
What should the next upgrade,,rls 9.1??? i heard from 9.0 to 9.1 avaya would charge for upgrade license.. is it true??

It is true. 9.0.6 is the latest but buggy 9.0 release. The next release is expected on May 29. So far the easier way for now would be to downgrade to 9.0.5 or 9.0.4

Sorry to reply late...
I donwngraded the system today to Rls9.4 and then to 9.3 to success.
the phones dont get upgraded at all.
one thing is that these phones are on combo card..please see the details below of the errors-- -
Infact now Phone 200 model 1416 is also not downloading the 1400 firmware...it downlaods and says wrong firmware..9504 jsut done donwload anything......even though i put the firmwares in proper primary directory

Hi,
I also changed the Combo card today... result is one phone worked 9504 series, 1416 phone worked..
but 3 phones of 9504 series didnt work at all....

I saw this method on a closed thread on this same subject and it worked for me:
1) change TFTP server address to your LAN1 address
2) change file server type to SD card
3) (this may sound weird, but it worked for me): if your phone still says "Please wait" plug a 5410 digital set into the port, wait for it to come up, then plug in the 9504. It may work for you too.

thanks for the post... fingers crossed , my putting in new phones on coming sunday as none of the methods worked before... I will try your advice too....

If you try several times don't forget that every DS port will only upgrade one single phone as long as the IPO is not rebooted.

We sometimes found out that connecting a T3 phone makes the port available for another update. Could be also work if you connect a 5400 phone as mentioned earlier.

thanks guys...
what i did till now...
downgraded the system form rls 9.0.6 to rls.9.0.3 --- no effect
installed a digital card instead of combo card --- two phones worked others had the same issue
finally i brought in 3 new phones....--- connected one by one.-- volla all three worked.....
cant understand what was the issue with old phones ,,, as these old phones also started on one of the ports and when i interchanged all were not working....

finally through with new phones....
