Hello everyone.
I've got a customer that we installed an Avaya IP Office phone system 9.1.5 to replace a Nortel MICS. They had an Avaya BST doorphone which was connected to a digital port on the Nortel phone system. With a Nortel DOC door controller connected as well. When the doorphone button was pressed, it called the main front desk phone, they would press 8 or 9 on the receptionist phone to unlock the door. The DOC door controller would get the DTMF signal from the doorphone and trigger the door strike to unlock the door.
I'm told this Avaya BST doorphone is not supported. I was thinking I'd replace the doorphone with an Avaya or Viking analog doorphone connected to an analog port on the Combo card. Create a short code for the analog doorphone to dial the main desk again. But can I still use the DOC door controller? And if so, how does that analog doorphone connect to the DOC to send the DTMF signal to the DOC to open the door? If not, what can I replace the Nortel DOC with to make this work?
Any help or suggestions is appreciated.
Thank you,
Chad
