AVAYA IP OFFICE 9.1.12 Voicemail to Email not working HELP!

HI, I have literally done over a 100 of these. gmail account. app password. setup correctly in manager. leave a voicemail.. seconds later in system status an alarm shows up "SMTP Server Communication Failure"

IP Office has a valid IP, DNS, and a default route. I also made sure port 587 is open both ways, and I have TLS checked..

this is all I get on Monitor:

I did actually, just for shits and giggles.. even though DNS is resolving OK in the logs.. still no dice
 
Have you tried deleting the SMTP info, restarting the VMPro service and reconfiguing it?
Sounds like you have everything configured correctly.
I assume this in running on a Windows server? If so, in the control panel there is a VMPro app that you can verify the SMTP connection.


 
This is using Embedded voicemail.. sorry i should have specified
 
I can't think of anything else. There is always SMTP2Go service. It's free as long as you don't go over a certain amount of emails.
You basically point to the SMTP2Go service and use that as a relay.
Whats nice about this service you can send to any email address. Doesn't have to be part of the customer domain.




 
In Monitor, go to the Services tab and check the box for SNTP. This will give you more information other than just "SMTPServer woken up..." and "SMTPServer snoozng...
 
It was common in R9.x for the embedded vmail to email to lockup if it fails once. The only way to get it to come back online was to reboot it. The best thing you can do is setup a local mail relay to send to the external server.
