Dear Friends

we are doing project installation of IP office 500v2 system the client have very wide area in resort and we would like to use IP office 500 v2 system but since the area is very big and its divided into 3 mdf locations
Example,
main system Unit
Then 2 remote areas in same place but in 2KM circle
so we would like to know if we can implement the system over fiber optic.
Is there way we can use expansions Over Fiber optic using Fiber Optic media convertors.

help will be appreciated.

Regards

In short no.

The interlink between IPO units is proprietry and the timing sync is crucial to correct operation - it is *not* IP based.

The best way is a network of IPO control units networked together.

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

Thanks Matt for you quick response
so as you said we should deploy 3 IPo Units and connect them via SCN .
so in that case the all 3 units will have different extensions plan.
what if client required 1 extension plan or back any short codes.

Regards

It may be simpler to use IP phones - even basic units in place of analog stations. That said, if using analog, you have a good distance limit before issues. You may need phones with electronic ringers as IPO won't do well with mechanical ringers, even if the phone is connected directly to expansion module.
