Hi,

Hoping I can get a recommendation or two, I am looking for a company who can provide hardware maintenance on our IP500 system in the UK, I have done plenty of Google'ing but hoping for some real life experience. Anyone I should be contacting and anyone in particular to avoid?

Looking for something with an SLA ideally, our previous supplier provided a 4 hour fix so something along them lines is what I am after.

Recently had a PSU failure that left us offline for an entire day so don't want to leave the system without cover :/

So who are people using?

Thanks!

Gonna me hard to get recommendations on here as a lot of us work for companys that do just that but we cannot advertise on here. Where about's are you as that will also make a difference?

Avaya have a webpage where you can search for Partners -
Although not sure how good that actually is when it doesn't even find my company when I put in a postcode around the corner from my office or in fact my actual office postcode!!

Thanks for the replies.

Yes, I have tried the Avaya partner locator but it brings back zero results in my area which is Widnes, North West England.

look for a company with National coverage.
although there are good local companies out there, there a also a lot of small companies who would be described on this forum as "Kermit & co".

Ask how many IP Office systems they maintain?
check their remote access capability, I resolve somwhre between 70 & 90 % of all IPO fault reported over the phone, or via remote access.
Also ask if you can speak to a member of their tech support team & pick his brains.

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

It looks as though the locator isn't working as I have tried a few locations and criteria in the UK but nothing is showing up.

I know there at least BPs in Chester and Manchester but of course I can't mention names here.

Seems broken, can't find a BP in any country I try =)

Been talking with Avaya (they do answer sometimes).

The fault is with the "YOUR BUSINESS SIZE" selector. If you leave it at "Please Select..." the search works fine.

If you have already selected a business size, you can click on that drop-down selector again and return it to "Please Select..." and the search will work.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Thanks,

I had another go earlier and entered only the very basic information and as you say, it worked!

I have now contacted a number of partners and are awaiting costs.

Thanks to everyone for your input.

Ian
