I have a Avaya IP Office 406 with ISDN30. I am told by my vendor it is not VOIP compatible. What can I do to upgrade without scrapping my Avaya?

Hi Richard3458
any IP Office is capable of VoIP as long as you have a VCM (Voice Compression Module) installed that actually does the conversion. Your vendor is not a good one if they tell you things like that, get a new one.
The ISDN30 is that a line or is that the expansion module you are referring to.
And skip555 is right to tell you about the IP Office thread I only discovered this by accident. The IP Office thread is a better place to ask this, there are some smart guys there that know this product like the back of their hand.

Get a vendor who knows what the hell they are doing, then ask them to upgrade whatever is needed to do VOIP. The IPO is capable of doing VOIP, and is designed to do so. I would actually never call your vendor who told you this again.

Like aarenot & Westi said, IP Office is designed to work with VoIP. It will also handle ISDN and POTs.

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.
