Avaya IP 500 J179 SIP Phone Dialing issues

I have J179 SIP phones assigned to my IP 500 Phone System:
The issue is that the phones will misdial about 30% of the calls that are make, the testing that I have done shows that it is repeating a digit on the misdials. usually on the 3rd or 4th digit, the H323 phones all work fine but not the SIP Phones? any ideas Thanks

Probably a phone firmware issue. Had this with 9600 and 9500 in the past.
