All,

i wonder if any of you can help. Our phone system is old Avaya Index 400 with approx 50 extensions and 50 DDIs.

over the weekend due to power cut something bad happened to the config and now all calls are coming through to the main reception number.

my questions are:
1. how do I list available DDIs and their extensions mapping
2. how to rectify the above - remap DDI numbers to their appropriate ext.

any help would be greatly appreciated

For a explanation I use some valuse as examples, replace them with your data.

DDI range = 0170735900 / 0170735949 ( 50 DDI numbers )
the last three digits are equal to the internal extension numbers.

There is one group for the main number which is 0170735900 and this number has to use day/night shifting.

Start in
ARS > Translations
Add a translation using translation number 50 and put in the following : Delete 6 digits
Add a translation number 49 : Replace 9 digits with 600
ARS > String analyse
Add a string : 170735 and apply translation 50
Add a string 170735900 and apply translation 49

From this point the extension can be called with their own DDI number, for the main number some extra work has to be done:
From the main menu select Directory > Group and add a groupnumber 500, give it a name and select the required type. From the main menu go to Group and add the operators extension to the group.
From the main menu select Directory > pilot number and enter 600, fill in the required data, Call Control Plan = 100.
Go back into the main menu and select Call Control Plan and select 100, give it a name if required and go into the call distibution submenu, ther you have day and night destinations, add group 500 for Day disposition 1 and blank out the other day disposition fields. If you need night shifting then you can enter a target on night disposition 1, look in the documentation how to use night shifting:
If you have done that all then the most of work is done.

The best thing ever is to have a backup and restore that, then you don't have to program a bit. But knowing the old INDeX engineers there are not a lot of them making backups frequently.
