Hi everyone,
I want to downgrade firmware of J179 ip phone from h323 6.8.x to h323 6.7.x . Please help me this case.
Thanks.

@skynet6868 - Should be fairly straight forward....simply upload the older firmware files to the server your phones talk to when they boot. If this is the System SD card, upload the files into the 'primary' folder. When you override the 96x1Hupgrade.txt file it will tell the phone the version of H.323 software to load when you reboot the phone...

Thanks, Tim

Hi TAC84,
Can you give me detail step about downgrade firmware for avaya J179 from H323 6.8.x to 6.7.x version ?
I have tried work two ways.
1.Changing from H323 6.8.4 to SIP 4.0.5 and return to H323 6.7.1-->but error. (H323 6.8.6 -->SIP 4.0.5 ---> H323 6.7.1)
2.Changing directly from H323 6.8.4 to H323 6.7.1 version -->still error.
(H323 6.8.4 --> H323 6.7.1)
In both ways, avaya J179 can not load firmware H323 6.7.1 from utility server
do you have new idea ?
Do you have any new idea for downgrade firmware of avaya J179?

Depending upon the hardware vintage, there is a minimum software release. The J179 you have may not be able to downgrade.
