Can anyone out there speak to whether or not an Avaya H.323 trunk(s) is secure? I have a request to connect to one of our company's outside clients using H.323 trunks. Our corporate infosec group will not allow this unless I can show that the Avaya CLAN is 'secure'.
So far, I have not been able to find any Avaya or 3rd party documentation that validates CLAN security.
This is the 3rd request from a client to connect either an H.323 or SIP trunk within the last month or so. I think that we will be seeing lots of these requests in the near future. We need to know what security risks are inherent when using H.323 and/or SIP trunks.
Thanks
