Howdy,

Was wondering if anyone had some insight on the kind of training and certifications that would be the right path on becoming an Avaya Certified Engineer?

Currently I have a couple Avaya Aura CM certs, and I would be what some would classify as a "level 2 tech".
I'm fully versed in CM, Audix, MM, Vectoring, Call Centers, VDN's and maybe a couple other things.
My knowledge of server maintenance is medium, along with patching and updating systems, etc.

I'm looking to reach the next level of further understanding the system, how to design solutions and how to troubleshoot and resolve issues on a higher expertise level.

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

What country are you in and are you with an Avaya BP?

I guess you just do it by working on bigger projects and/or taking on a bigger role in the projects you're working on.

I am located on the westcoast, USA.

Isn't there a list of Avaya certs somewhere on their website?
I'm trying to obtain proper credentials aside from my personal on hands experience in the field.

For sure, avaya-learning has a list of certs. The top is the "ACSS" but they're likely ill-suited to what you want to do. They're generally suited to knowing products inside and out, but not really designing them or planning out projects.

I guess working in engineering, or with your system engineers at your BP is how you'd make that next step up. That's how I did it anyway!

Hi,

We are now going to CCNA voice track and the financial reward is great as we can handle more crazy migration from Avaya to Cisco !!! Ha ha ..

Thanks
