Good morning everybody,on the datasheet e129 support SIP protocol, also shown it replaces existing analogue and digital phone and the software compatibility is Avaya IP Office 9.0.3 or above. I m a little confuse on that : For Avaya IP Office 9.0.3 does it means the release or the IP Office version ? However IP Office version is 8.1.95.

E 129 SIP desk phone replaces analogue and digital phone, therefore analogue and digital doesn't worries about SIP protocol, on my IP Office's license no SIP license is not available, might i care about that to make it works well ?
Any idea would be much appreciated .
Thanks !

They are supposed to replace analogue and digital endpoints because they are cheap and can be part of an all IP system.

I'm pretty sure that they will work with pre 9.0.3 IPO releases. The difference is that IPO 9.0.3 and newer know them as Avaya endpoints. So you will only have to pay for Avaya IP Endpoint licenses if IPO is at least at 9.0.3 while you have to pay for 3rd party IP Endpoint licenses of IPO release is older than 9.0.3.

Ok thank you very much,so i can purchase them regardless my current version of IP Office_(8.1.95),the one thing that will require after is to pay for 3rd party IP Endpoint licenses of IPO .
Thanks !

Sorry Avaya IP Endpoint licenses,on my case.

You will need 3rd party IP endpoint licenses. But to be honest I never tested them and I don't know if someone else did it.

Okay, the current protocol on the IP Office system is H.323,for these new phones E 129 with SIP protocol, would not cause a malfunction on the system ?

IP Office 'speaks' H323 as well as SIP. Not exclusively but parallel without issues.

E129 is always a SIP phone.

Alright thank you,so my new E 129 phone will be configure as SIP protocol.

yes it should be built as a sip extension and as stated you will need licenses as well

Thank you very much, you Both !
