Avaya Digital 1416 Backlight dim

Hi guys
I know this is possible on the IP models as I’m running a mix of 9611G/9608G but have a couple of Digital 1416 handsets and a 9508. On the 9508 Digital handset the backlight display eventually dims, however on the 1416 handset the backlight display always appears to stay on.
Is this normal on the 1416 and was improved on the 9508?

Much prefer my 9611G/9608G IP handsets however it’s always good to have a couple of digital ones in the mix in the event of a switch failure etc.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Do you try adjusting the display brightness through the "A" menu? Maybe it is already at its dimmest setting

@TouchToneTommy - Sorry I probably didn't explain that well. I mean when the 'SET BAKLIGHTOFF XX' setting in 46xxsettings is used. I know this is a setting for the IP Handsets and the Digital handsets don't pay attention to this setting, however the 9508 display eventually turns off/completely dim when left idle. The 1416 series always stays on...

Does everyone else's 1416 Digital handset displays always remain on or do they eventually turn off like the 9508 does?
