Hi,

We had issues with an MM716 board in our S8300 and ordered a replacement.
Any tips on the install? Switches to be set?
We've never replaced an MM716 - do we check "list conf all" to verify the card is working?
Thx,

-P

Some clarification/edification: Your MM716 is another board inside the gateway, just like your S8300 is. The S8300 is your call processor, not the box holding the processor. The box holding it AKA the gateway is probably a model starting with G (G450, G700 etc).

MM cards are hot swappable, so you do not need to shut down the system. I would busy the board (busy board XXXX), remove the board from the gateway, then insert the new board. Now release the board (release board XXXX). It wouldn't hurt for you to do some testing, depending on what the problem with your old board was.

Be sure to update the firmware as soon as possible after you install the board. The boards are always a bit old from the factory.

Hi-

Helpful info. Appreciate the details - being a newbie to Avaya.
Understood - yep, the machine is a G700 where the MM716 is located.

We ran the diags on the MM716 card to diagnose the bad ports from the Intuity Audix server.
Have the patch ports covered since we cannot use them anymore.

So if we follow these steps we should be ok?

- busy board 002V1(?)
- remove board from G700 machine - right? ( You said gateway )
- release board 002V1(?)

What about change med gat X(?) - a form from what I've heard?
Is this cmd only for a new install?

And should we run list conf all at end to verify slot, ports, etc?

Lastly - if we cannot login to the Avaya site - how do we download the latest firmware for MM716? ( thought I saw a post that said latest - 91)
We tried looking here and are not sure where to find FW for MM716:
ftp://ftp.avaya.com/incoming/Up1cku9/tsoweb/

Thanks much.

Hi Pichels - no problem. The G700 is a gateway (hence the G). No different than the G650, G4x0's and so on.

The change media-gateway form is really only useful during installations. The fields with the various slot configurations are automatically populated.

A list conf all at the end never hurts, but if you can make calls to those ports and so on you should be fine.

G650 is a cabinet.
Command: list cabinet
Command: change circuit-pack x (where x is the cabinet number) In the case of G650 may be a stack of G650. These are not the same as media-gateways.

G650 supports legacy TN coded circuit-packs like SCC, MCC, CMC cabinets support.

Hi again-

We searched Avaya for the MM716 FW - rev 96( mm716v85.fdl , 3.1.x) - could not download or find when logged into our account?
We don't get anything relevant when searching or using suggested downloads?

Link:

Not sure where to find this file - it is listed but when we accept agreement and are redirected with a Pub ID(CMFW0000462) - it can;t find it's own reference?
Message ---> "No matches found. Please modify your search criteria and try again."

Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thx.

If you use the link on the 3rd thread, it works. Scroll down to mm716 and click on the red 96.
