Hi there,
we have asked our supplier to reduce our ISDN channels from 40 to 20.
This was actioned last night by BT.
We came into work this morning and now we can receive calls, however we cannot make outgoing calls. We just get an off-tone engaged signal.
I reported this to our supplier 4 hours ago, who said that BT haven't marked the job as finished yet, and more-than-likely an issue with them.
They said if it is still like it when BT sign off the job, that I will probably have to reset the ISDN (disconnect from phone system for 10 seconds, then reconnect).
Then if it is still like, restart the phone system.
BT still haven't signed off the job, we still can't make outgoing calls - so they suggested I "reset the ISDN" as described above. I've done this, but we're still have the same problem of no outgoing calls.
Is the supplier over-looking that the phone system may need to be told that there are now only 20 channels, and not 40?
As I say, receiving calls is fine - just not making them.
Shall I restart the phone system?
About 3 years ago, we went from 60 ISDN channels to 40 - we didn't have to make any changes or restarts when that happened.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Chris
