I have successfully setup a sip trunk between asterisk and the definity and everything works very well except faxing. I have an HT502 ATA with t.38 support, asterisk is setup to support t.38 passthrough, and I have my ip-codec-set to t.38 standard for faxing. from the logs it detects the t.38 on all 3 systems but the fax fails. If I dial a fax number from an analog phone hooked up to the ATA device, the phone rings and connects and as soon as the fax noise starts, there is no more audio. I'm guessing the t.38 data stream is not going between the two devices correctly. anybody have any thoughts? I know that the avaya sip trunk only supports tcp and the ATA I'm using is UDP. I don't think that should make a difference as they are going through the asterisk box, but I'm not sure. any input would be much appreciated. thanks.
