Decided to start a new thread instead of attaching it to my previous since it's covering a different topic, although connected to one another, as is everything Avaya.
So, I was recently tasked to manage the switch after an abrupt termination. Trying to hold my own, and so far, thanks to this forum, I've accomplished many things. I have been struggling to get the passwords and logins I need into the systems we have: SBC, SMGR, SB. I was able to get a hold of Avaya and they were willing to remote in somehow or use gotomypc (my switch isn't on an external network so that was not an option), so remoting in was the only option, aside of having a tech come to location - trying to avoid it if possible $$$.
We have an Avaya Defender box model ION SA5600 and it has a modem and phone number attached to it. Avaya tech tried to remote in and he was successful the first time but the connection timed out - the internal IP he was looking for timed out, so he tried again and again. The IP kept timing out; I found out the ethernet cable was never connected to the switch from the Defender box, so i terminated it to the switch but when Avaya support tried to remove in and use the IAMST login - immediately - they get an "access denied" prompt. I reset, unplugged and plugged back in the Defender but that did not clear it.
I can't find any information about this anywhere, I hope I am not the only one using such device.
My question: I assume the login is locked out, how can this be released? Is it a timed release or something physical?
