Hi Guys, many of our clients are complaining about the quality of Avaya's Dect phones. Many have broken charging ports on phones and many chargers are broken too. This is happening to multiple clients across different locations. I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if we can get those repaired someplace. Also, if there a good alternative to Avaya Dect 37xx Portable phones?

I can't say I've ever experienced it in my deployments over the years but haven't done a lot with DECT (I do however run a DECT R4 at home with 4 Avaya 3720 phones plus another 6 Mitel phones).

As above (and as for alternatives), I'm running mostly Mitel 612D and 5614 phones on my system. They just like the Avaya DECT R4 system and phones are made by Ascom so they work perfectly.

The Mitel 5614 uses the same charger as the Avaya DECT (it's the same as an Avaya 3735) but the Mitel 612D has a much simpler charger with contacts that I definitely prefer.

Avaya don't actually make the phones or chargers, as Shaun E has shown, Ascom do and they do it for a lot of products in the market - because they have a good reputation for build quality and ruggedness. Where are you getting yours from?

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.
