I'm trying to find some documentation that describes the differences between the Class A and Class B licenses for the Avaya CT software (currently at version 1.3). The price break is significant between the two licenses and I'm trying to decipher which one is required.

Thanks in advance.

kempriver,

the difference is described in ct product definition, quoting:

Dual Class Licensing Available in October, 2003:
In order to address the needs of customers with a more basic CTI functionality than our traditional Avaya CT product provides AND at a reduced price point, we have created a second class of Avaya CT licenses called Avaya Class A Licenses. These new licenses include Avaya CT and ASAI Core.

–Included in ASAI Core:
• Adjunct Call Control Group (e.g., 3rd party call control)
• Domain Control Group (e.g., domain control of a station, etc.)
• Event Notification Group (e.g., Event stream for VDN, etc.)
• Request Feature Group (e.g., login agent, send all calls, etc.)
• Set Value Group (e.g., set message waiting indicator, etc.)

The contents of traditional Avaya CT licenses will not change, however, the name will change to Avaya CT Class B license beginning in October, 2003 when the class A licenses become available.
Avaya CT Class B will continue to be applicable for customers who require all the functionality of Avaya CT today. Class B licenses will include Avaya CT and Adjunct Links (as it does today)

–Adjunct Links (Full ASAI functionality is accessible):
•All listed above for Core
•Adjunct Routing Group (e.g., adjunct route from vector)
• Switch Classified call/Predictive dialing
• Answer Machine Detection (from within classified call)
• ASAI Selective listening
• CTI Stations
• Phantom Calls

hope this helps.
