I have an Avaya CM 6.4. I am not using sip anything. I want to move from dedicated PRI's for inbound/outbound to fiber. The provider tells me that they can bring in fiber and hand off to my telephone system as a pri. I have been told that my faxes will not work this way. I don't have a fax server and my fax numbers are spread all over my DID ranges. I am told that I will have to keep a PRI and move all the DID fax numbers about 100 (majority of these go into my Aura Messaging to receive) to that PRI. Does anyone have another solution without me going SIP on my phone system? Thanks for any input.

he is wrong it is still a pri just being converted from fiber

Thanks Joe

So the conversion should let the faxing work as normal?

Thank you again Joe. That's what I thought especially since now when it comes in on PRI it goes over to fiber to some of our other locations.

Is anyone out there doing this already that can give any problems they have with this set up?

now a days this is the normal hand off, what is your codec set to for faxing on page 2?

I have codec 1 as T.38, codec 2. All my locations are set to codec 1 on the first page, and on page 4 on all the locations are set to 2.

sounds good, relay is also an option if this does not work
