Hello Tek Tips Forum Users,
I have an Avaya CM config with S8730's running 5.2.1 service pack 9.
I have been experiencing two weird issues with my digital phone ports.
First issue is that every now and then I will get a help desk call stating that a phone has a high pitch squeal on it when either the handset is picked up or the speaker is accessed.
the only way I have been able to clear this issue is to go to the physical phone and unplug it then plug it back in, this clears that issue and if it returns it most always happens on another set.
the ports are random and not on the same card or port network.
Second issue that I have run into is with a digital phone not completing calls or misinterpreting the digits dialed when trying to make a call. This issue is weird because I have changed out phones, digital ports, cross connects and mounting cables and the problem has always hit the same phone location and I suspect a cable issue but I have no idea if that is something that can be caused by a cable problem since it happens so randomly...
