I have an Avaya PBX at a disaster location that I need to have employees update their call forwarding in real time. Can I write a PHP web application to do this and interface with the PBX via sockets or some other IP communication to update the call forwarding on a per user (extension) basis.

If you have Modular Messaging, they can use Find Me and update that via the Web Client, Outlook or Lotus Thick Client depending on the environment...
