Hi guys,

Got a customer on Cloud Container going out through a Gamma SIP line.

They are looking to be able to change the outgoing phone number for certain users.

Previously in the past I've had Yealink phones at the end user and have just added another line on for the different phone number.

These users are running Avaya J169s though and I've never added multiple lines on there, I've wondered if this can also be done using short codes or even ARS, but I've never used ARS.

Just looking for a nice simply solution if poss.

Cheers.

Can't you change the SIP tab on the users?

Yeah you can change the SIP tab, but then all outgoing calls will be that number, they need a different outgoing number for different calls.

So you would need to change the SIP tab every single time they made a call.

You should have 2 URIs, one with fields set to "Use Local URI" and one with fields set to Auto.

If you put another outgoing ID on the URI with Auto you can use .s on shortcodes to set a different CLI.
Normal calls will use the users SIP tab and shortcodes using the other outgoing ID will use what's set in the shortcode.

Yeah what Janni78 said is a good shout,

Not sure if you can do a NS shortcode on SIP....definetly worked on ISDN

Create a new sip uri on the sip trunk with the caller id you want. And make a new outgoing grp id. Lets say 19.

Create a new ars using outgoing grp 19.

Create a new short code 8N/dial/newARS.

Now you can use 9N for regular calls and 8N for other caller id.

Also, don’t forget to create incoming call route if you want to receive calls for that number.

You guys have any screen grabs for this stuff, I can't seem to get it configured like you say?

This is a basic setup, all calls come in on ID 10 and are routed through ICR.

Default ARS uses ID 10 for outgoing calls and CLI are set from users SIP tab.
To set another CLI you can use ID 11 and have for example a shortcode like 881N / Dial / Ns123456789 / 11, which would dial the number after 881 and use CLI 123456789.

If your provider requires PAI you just add that to the URI, in some cases we have "Use Internal Data" for PAI for the second URI as well as the first.
This allows to set any CLI but service providers get the users SIP tab info for billing.

Firstly, are you one Avaya Cloud or Avaya IP Office Cloud (aka. containerized IP Office) or a virtualized IP Office running in a cloud? Affects the answers hugely. Some clue as to what is shown on the phones or in whatever configuration tools you can access would help greatly
