Hi All new to the forum, Hopefully a quick question

I've been working on IP Office for about a year now and want to get certified. (ACIS 6402 IP Office implementation)

I've got a login to the avaya university website but all I can seem to find for study material (there or otherwise) is an avaya delivered course for 3000.00. That is not in the cards for me right now.

Is there a decent study guide out there or even better PDF's that prepare you for this exam someone could recommend?

Thanks!

No, pay 3K or read the docs in the knowledgebase and hope for the best.

Intrigants right

They also practice tests , if you have been working on them for a year the acis should be easy, I took ,one after about 8 months working on them

In process of studying for acss now ...

What is the cheapest way to get certified?

Check with a local Authorized Avaya Dealer in your area. Through Avaya it says $3000 but we were certified through Catalyst Telecom for $1500 so there are cheaper places to get certified. But as the other said, you definitely want to take the course. I would advise a classroom session if this is your first class. It will put you on the right road to installing the IP office and we won't have to deal with you coming in here asking how to change a name... Just kidding 8) My 2 year certification is up and I have to take the 6402 again real soon. Luckily there is a testing center in the city I work in. Been fighting with the uppers in our office to send me to the Advanced Course but that's like pulling teeth. Has anyone taken the Adv course and is it worth the $?

Thanks for the info everyone. I can't say I'm happy with Avaya for operating like this but wadaya do. I come from a Cisco background. They have a, "CISCO Press" website. Pick the cert you want and buy the book tailored for it......

Can anyone point me to some more beneficial PDF's to go through? I'm thinking the course won't happen so I will have to do the best I can and wing it.

thx

If you have been installing the systems for a year, you should just go take the test. It is a joke that they want to charge $3000 for study material at that level. It is a money grab and nothing more.

I would just go take the test as well. The ACIS should be easy for you if you have been installing for a year. It's fairly basic. The ACSS is a bit tougher and requires a good knowledge of the advanced applications.

Interesting thread, I also want to get certified, from the mess of the Avaya learning lab the best I could work out is I needed to attend the classroom instructor lead course before I could take the exam!

I don't want to pay the 3k, is it possible to jump straight to the exam and how much do exams cost?

Per the Avaya learning site there are no prerequisites for the ACIS 6402 exam so yes you can just take the test. That being said you probably don't want to drop $125 and fail....

You need to sign up at pearson vue sign up for the test and then do a search for testing centers. They will book your test date and take your money.
