we've got the 5-user license in the form of a parallel-port dongle. The servers do not have parallel ports, so we're attempting to use a USB-to-parallel cable to attach the dongle.

The OS sees the device as an "unknown printer" and attempts to install printer software. The Avaya BCMS software doesn't appear to see the dongle at all.

I attempted to locate a driver on the BCMS CD but couldn't find one.

It would be far easier for you to get a PCI parallel port card, than to swap out that dongle with AVAYA. Even if you are using a rack mount server, most of them have either PCI or PCI-X slots, and you can find a parallel port card for one of those slots, and be done with it.

You will never find a driver for that, they are designed for printers, not for dongles...

Thanks Mitch672.

I wanted to make sure. I agree it would be much easier to get a PCI card. I even tried to see what the price would be to exchange the parallel key for a USB key but still pricey.
