Hi guys,

We have 2 Avaya B179 conf phone. For some reasons, the ip address that is setup onto it is not pinging and can't access also via web interface.

IP address is setup as static. Have tried to set as dynamic but the B179 can't get IP address from DHCP. Tried to plug this also to a known working phone but the same issue.

The Avaya IP office version is R11.1 FP1.

Any solutions?

Maybe a vlan is set up and not on the same network

I would reset the phone.
Redo the IP address
Put it onto a small data switch away from your network for test
Put the phone and laptop on to it.
Set laptop to same IP address range for the network.
Try and ping.

Phones could be faulty.

On 11.0 we had to upgrade the firmware manually for these phones in order to get them to connect.

@snowman50 thanks for the reply.

We have 2 phones with the same model and both has the same issue.

Is your laptop in the same network / subnet?

Or is it routed?

I don't know out of the top of my head if you need to allow to reach the B179 from another network, but you can check this in the settings.

It seems like a network issue to me.

And don't use chrome. Otherwise it wont work.

just to update, we downgraded the firmware from 2.4.x to 2.3 and the conference phones connects and are back online now.
