we have a working Avaya Aura MSG system and using SMTP for e-mail alerts – no recordings just e-mail alerts.

working actually pretty well as it kind of looks like it’s done on MM w / MSS store & external host / mail options

this has been in for a month or so without issue but stopped e-mailing to all end users last week -

end users are getting the voicemails and MWI alerts no problem -
system has about 100 users -

latest version and service packs on MSG server & SP -

we can see the messages in queue ( SMTP ) -

SMTP test passes with the ip and host of the exchange server -

stopped / started the messaging service and even rebooted as well - still stuck in SMTP queue -

in the " SMTP in logs " I should see 2 events from the POSTMASTER

event 1: first event the message sent to voicemail box ( which it does get there )

event 2 : a few minutes later - the e-mail sent to the “ notify me” e-mail handle.

this 2nd event would be seen in the SMTP out logs ( it is not )

just odd as mentioned it was working and stopped would make sense if it failed and was rejected but not seeing that 2nd event regardless in the attempted to send said e-mail to the end users .

checked all profiles and e-mail enabled

data side checks out and says nothing has changed on their end as we pass SMTP to the exchange server from the Avaya Aura MSG

thank you for any responses to this post in advanced .

i think that it is being rejected by your mail relay and that is why you do not see it in the out log. You network people have done something and are just not telling you is what it sounds like. change the mail relay and see what happens
