I'm curious what others have heard about the future of the BCM Platform? I hear Avaya is planning to complete the purchase of bankrupt Nortel and decide/communicate by Feb what their strategy is for combining or eliminating products between the two companies. We in IT are entering our budeting process for 2010 and need to plan ahead... Any thoughts from other IT people managing inhouse BCM's? We are using BCM 400 's predominately for a running a call center environment (<50 agents today) and BCM50 for small remote offices. We were looking ahead toward expanded use of VoIP phones and SIP trunking between BCM's to leverage dedicated LD service in corporate office to lower costs. We see a growing number of users needing more mobility and with a laptop and broadband internet connection "somewhere" e.g. home, hotel, customer location, etc.. We have maintenance contracts on our BCM's with AT&T. Unified Communications with Exchange is a question? We are on Exchange 2003 and thinking about 2007 (or 2010). Many issues to consider... What does the future of the BCM platform look like to you?

I heard from the nortel vendor that I use, that anything with an MSC card will become unsupported. So bcm 50's and 450's are going to continue, and they will have an upgrade path to upgrade 400's to 450's.
