I am trying to set up our 2 incoming lines to go directly to AA and then routed from there. This is probably a very simple answer, but I could not find any posts that explain start to finish and also looked at Avayas docs all day/nite.

Running Avaya ACS r4 with Partner Messaging R1 4port vm card. I have the auto attendant setup within the voicemail card, I just need to know how to make the phone lines ring directly to it without rining any extensions.

Thanks a lot!

Assign the Lines to the Auto Attendant - #206-7-(Line Number)-1

Set them to answer on 0 rings - #506-1-(Line Number)-0

Set the phones to No Ring - Centralized Telephone Programming

Actually, set the Operator's phone to Delayed Ring, so if the voice mail chokes, at least you know that there are calls coming in.

Touchtonetommy is right, however just FYI, what I do is to set the lines for delayed ringing instead of no ringing. The lines still won't ring, but if the voicemail goes out of service, the 4th attempt at ringing the VM results to the 1st ring to all delayed ringing stations. It is a good backup just in case.

TTT is now whispering answers. He must have posted his reply from a library! [bigsmile] (just kidding TTT) [smile]

the only problem with delayed ring is that on a busy system or at busy times the operator (or those in the delayed group ) may be getting partial rings before a VM port clears and answers

I was using [small]small[/small] type to politly point that I made the exact same point in the previous post (About 5 DAYS earler)

Having the Operator occasionaly receive a half ring or more is a good indication that it's time to upgrade the number of ports, if it happens often enough.

Hey TTT!

I didn't realize that you had used the small type as a way to repeat something you had entered earlier on. [xmastree]

But I got all the egg off. [smile]
