Avaya 9650 IP phone no logout key

Hi,

Relatively simple problem hopefully.

I can not find the the logout key on the phone.
It should be in the menu, scroll down 2, then logout.
But what i am seeing in the main menu
"Options and setting"
"Network information"
"VPN setting"
"About avaya one X"

I tried the button programming to set a logout but when pressed, it does not do a thing.

Also would like to know how to setup a phone with the proper rights to be able to login into any phone.
The phone somehow can log into any 1616 phone but not all the 9650 phones.
Wondering where the setting for these could be.

LogOut" on IP Office with Avaya IP sets can have two flavors :
Login/logout of a user done with the shortcodes *35*Extn*Logincode# and *36 - aka "the preffered way"
Each user must have a logon code ( User > Telephony > Supervisor Settings > Logon code for this feature to work, it works on any type of phone including the 9650.
Give the "NoUser" user a logon key on pos 1 and each user a logoff key.
or
Register/deregister a IP phone with the "Logoff" function in the Avaya menu. This feature is not to be used because a deregistered phone cannot dial emergency numbers.
Another issue that will cause a lot of problems is that when "auto create extension" for IP phones is left enabled ( default setting ) you'll end up with a lot of not existing IP extensions. Everytime a user wants to logon and dials a wrong number a new IP extension is creater.
If have been visiting problem sites as a Avaya representive with over 800 ip extensions while there were only about a 100 real sets.
