What do I need to make and Avaya 9640 set work on a BCM450 R6........or will it?

I know the AVAYA sets use a kind of butchered H.323 to work but can I get SIP endpoing licenses and make them work?

Thanks for the response E, but I see in the Application Resources that there are entries for Avaya SIP sset, IP sets and Other SIP sets which leads me to believe that there are licenses for each type. Does anyone know if this is the case?

My assumption is that the licensing would be as follows:

IP Sets: Nortel/Avaya Unistim sets
Avaya SIP Sets: Traditional Avaya sets running SIP firmware
Other SIP Sets: Other vendor's IP sets such as Polycom, Grandstream, Yealink etc.

Anyone ever get anything other than Unistim sets to work?

Hi telco, I inquired about this when an avaya engineer named Mark, upgraded my system. My applications and resources showed SIP sets, but upon further updates it was removed from the database. He told me the SIP set allowance was only for testing on lab equipment and was scrapped when avaya took over and wanted to replace the BCM with IP office.

My understanding was those entries were related to when the BCM was running in SRG mode only.
