Hi all, i need some assistance here please. I have 1616 ip sets working on my IPO 500v2. Have a branch office with juniper tunnel in place and my 1616 works fine.

if i plug a 9608 in, for the love of money i can not get this to work.

i have tried to get this working at our main branch as well with all the parameters pointing to the sd card.

i have seen an extension login at the man branch, but after entering the details, phone froze and never gave me that agai.

Any ideas?

Start by using a separate http server for 9608&96x1 sets.

Make sure you use a "real" 46xxsettings.txt file instead of
the auto-generated file.

also upgrade to the latest firmware 7.0.23 has many issues.

Computers are like Air conditioners:-
Both stop working when you open Windows

mv_ip tel from avaya support is your answer

The IP500V2 is capable of being the http server without issues.
It is the phone firmware that is causing issues.

@tlpeter,

whatever the reason, I can confirm that using the IPO as fileserver
for 9608 can cause all sort of problems. (phone not grabbing
language files/missing menu options)

I suspect it has something to do with the auto-generated files not being properly processed by the firmware

That could be it but i always put a 46xx, 96xx etc etc files on it.
I never let it do this by the IPO.

Tried that too,
didn't fix the language-file grabbing issue.

In the end contacted distri support and they told me the
file server was the issue. Couldnt find the tech-bullitin though.
Used the httpd service from One-X in the end. Problems solved...

Hi all,

thanks for all the valuable info, i will most certainly try all the suggestions.

Kindly point me to the download location for the 46XX and 96Files.

Have good one.
