avaya 8800 cm 5.2 to cisco cme express

I have a total avaya shope 80 sites plus w/ one main 8800 running cm 5.2. Need to setup a remote site running cme express and would like to make the 2 communicate.

I've looked around digging for info that others may have but still coming up w/ nothing good. Has anyone here done this? do I need to make a 323 trunk? the avaya isn't running sip at all currently.

does anyone have any documentation that could help me figure out the best way to do such so I can have the new site have communications w/ the avaya sites.
