Does anyone here know how do I enable the softkey mode on an Avaya 4610SW IP Phone during boot? The problem I am facing is after my 4610SW IP Phone finished booting, it shows Ext. #=OK New= prompt for a user to enter an extension number and then password for the extension where the password is in an alphanumeric string.

It needs to be just numeric, it's a login code when connecting to an IP Office :)

That is not good because some VoSPs put a restriction to using an alphanumeric password only. I am hoping that is a way to enter an alphanumeric password.

OTOH, I include the following in my 46xxsettings.txt file and the 4610SW IP Phone still prompts a user to enter the Ext. and password.

[tt]SET SIP_USERNAME1 1000
SET SIP_PASSWORD1 mypassword
SET SIP_LINE1 1000
SET SIP_LINE_CALLID1 "1000"[/tt]

Looks like I had done something wrong here.

I think you may be in the wrong forum.... do you actually have an IP Office? Or just an Avaya system? 46xx handsets don't run SIP on an IP Office :)

You probably are right.

I only have two units of stand-alone Avaya 4610SW IP Phones that I would like them to register to my FreeSWITCH PBX system as well as some SIP VoSPs.

I apologize for that. And, thank you for trying to help.
