I have 2 Avaya 3910 cordless. One works aok. The other beeps ONCE A MINUTE! So annoying! The battery is fully charged & it's getting a great signal. I swapped the batteries b/w the 2 3910s to test - no change. I then swapped the chargers - no change. The 2 cordless units are actually located on different floors of the building so as per Avaya's instructions there should be no interference between the 2. Does anyone have a clue as to why this phone keeps beeping!? Thanks for your help & time!

How about changing the bases, to see if your not getting a good signal from one of the bases. Unless by charger, you mean base or antenna, then disregard. What does it say on the phone, while this is happening?

I didn't think to swap the base / antenna unit. Not sure why that never occurred to me!! Will give it a shot now. When I said ‘charger’ I literally meant the unit that you drop the phone in so the battery can recharge. The display shows nothing amiss when it beeps. Also note that the beep continues whether you are on the phone or off. I’ve tried turning off the ringer, different ringer sounds, different ringer volumes. Heading downstairs to swap the base / antenna units now… Will let you know!

OK, so I learned you can't swap just the base / antenna. The phone & the base / antenna are linked to each other which makes sense considering that it's ok to have multiple units in the same location - if they weren't linked directly to each other they wouldn't know which unit to 'talk' to for its respective extension.

ANYWAY, here is where it gets interesting: So instead of swapping out just the base / antenna I swapped out the phone AND base / antenna. But the beeping continues!!!! This is a COMPLETELY different phone & base / antenna combo!! So it ISN'T the phone! Something must be up with the EXTENSION! But WHAT?!

Problem solved. I put an MLS-12D on the line to see what would happen. It beeped. And I noticed one of the programmable buttons was blinking. I don't know how but somewhere along the way that button (even though it doesn't exist on the cordless phone) was pressed & put on hold. The beeping was nothing more than the hold reminder. The button was taken off hold, Line Assignment (#301) was changed to Not Assigned for that button (as well as 2 others it shouldn't have had rights to). What a wacky little problem... thanks so much for taking time to post your suggestion! It got me on a whole different path of troubleshooting that proved successful!
