Hello to all:

I am dealing with a situation that I am sure many have already had to face.

I have a customer who is running and IP office V1 hardware with R5.0 software.

They were using a 3810 Cordless phone as a backup for the receptionist who answers all incoming calls.

The 3810 has now died and I am looking for an alternative.

Having reviewed several of the WiFi options that are now available, I am looking for suggestions from folks who have already replaced their 3810's.

I am open to all suggestions, but as usual, I am trying not to spend too much money on behalf of the customer. It seems that every option is going to cost roughly $1000 with either hardware and/or software licensing upgrades.

What have any of you done that replaced the 3810 for a fair price?

Thanks for your input.

I have put people into Plantronics CS540 headset's with the integrated switch-hook. It allows the receptionist to get up and walk around while still being able to pick-up/hang-up a call. The range is decent too.

The D160 is really a glorified single line set. It is expensive for what you get in my opinion. You can transfer calls from it, but parking and un-parking is not a simple task. It requires multiple button pushes to accomplish both. For the cost difference I would just get a regular cordless phone. You can use flash to transfer calls and set-up park/pickup codes that are easier than the D160 in my opinion.
