Roaming issues.

When a user moves from one area to another, the 3641 phones don't seem to be jumping to the nearer access point, even when call quality is getting so poor it is unusable.

We have very closely followed the design guides from Avaya, Aruba, and Spectralink, and have gone over everything in detail.

I notcied another post about this same issue with Cisco APs awhile back but did not see if they found resoltuion. Anyone else have any ideas?

This is pretty typical of any WiFi client (being "sticky"). You should contact Aruba and see if there's a way to force clients to switch AP's.

I have spent many hours on the phone with Aruba having them check things that have nothing to do with this issue. I am beginning to get frustrated with them.

I told them the issue is that the phones aren't hopping properly and we need to make adjustments to force them to hop more often. The engineer said there is no setting like that. Someone I know that uses Motorolla Access Points had the same issue and made an adjustment to fix it. I am surprised Aruba doesn't have a similiar setting.

I have read online across many posts that this is a pretty common issue, I just haven't found anyone to post the fix.

Once I figure it out I will post the solution back here.
