Hi all,

I have been searching for the setup docs or help to have a few 3641 sets configured and work on an Avaya IP office.
What are the prerequisites? do I need the Avaya Voice Priority Processor for two wireless phones?

I just need some guidelines or setup docs for this please.

thanks much

3. AVPP Software:
For 3641/3645 phones the minimum AVPP software level is 17x.028. Note that if deploying 3641/3645 phones to an existing AVPP network, it is still be necessary to download and update the AVPP software. You don't need an AVPP if your wifi network can do WMM (wifi standard).

I've deployed phones on networks not on this list with varying success - some were OK and some not. On some AP's they will come up and still say No WMM, and you can tweak the "admission control" setting to optional to get around this sometimes.

An example, I installed some on an HP controller based wifi network, that was on the VIEW list but the firmware was a few revs behind the tested version. They seemed to work fine initially but the customer reported issues with dropped calls and other anomalies. After a few months and my repeated recommendations the customer's IT guy finally updated the controller to the recommended version and the problems went away.

I would highly recommend not using an AVPP, it's just another piece of gear in the mix that complicates the setup and complicates troubleshooting.
