I just received an avaya 2420 handset and a Plantronics CS510 wireless headset.
I can't seem to get them to work together properly; I can't get the headset to "end" a call from the button on the headset.
I tried just the headset wiring; wired into the "headset" jack on the back/bottom of the 2420 and the received staying plugged into the 2420.
I tried plugging the receiver into the 'receiver jack' on the wire harness that came with the cs510 headset.
I was given an EHS Adapter - APV-66 to use with the Avaya phone but that doesn't seem to work either.

Does anyone know the proper way to hookup / setup a Plantronics CS510 wireless headset. This is the first headset I've tried to use with an Avaya handset.

TIA
Brad

have you gone to plantronics web site to see if the 2420 is compatable with that type of headset

Yes I have and it is compatible; they also recommend the EHS Adapter that I've installed.
I'm not sure I have it working fully correct. I've made some changes and haven't had time to fully test it yet. (these aren't being utilized yet, just setting up a new BDC office, new hires haven't started yet)
One time they work ok, the next time it doesn't. I did notice power cycling the hdset base made a difference but not sure it's permanent.

I also have an email sent into Plantronics, waiting for a response back from them also.

Thanks Smokinjoe

The 2420 handset seem to be ver 6.
I think I have them figured out; I have the wireless modules set at 3, 3, B. The fix was changing the "slider" switch from A to B.

Thanks 4merAvaya,
Yeah, I was a little disappointed with my vendor, I purchased the refurbed 2420's and the new Plantronics from the same place and their recommendation was to contact Plantronics, "their under warranty". Neither my vendor nor Plantronics suggested changing any of the settings on the wireless module.
