Avaya 1692 External Speaker Setup?

Is there a possible way where you could interface the Avaya 1692 Conference Phone to a third-party external speaker setup? We were wondering if the jack on the side of the phone would serve this purpose, howevever no mention of its use were present in any of the documents.

You can purchase extender microphones for the 1692.

Thanks gwebster, but I was wondering if it is possible with Non-Avaya branded speakers (i.e. off the shelf).
