We have just deployed several 1165e phone in a AACC call center. The network gear is cisco 3850 switches that are stacked. We are having random phones just power down and reboot during calls. I have replaced the phones several time and they still do this. Is there something in the cisco switch that can be causing this.

Thanks,

Its quite normal on any data switch that you cannot fill every port with phones using POE as the power consumption is too much and phones randomly power off is that your problem? You would need to look at the power planning for the Cisco switches & PSU's you have and work out the maximum number of ports you could use per blade. Easy way to prove is just unplug a certain number of ports per switch an see if your problem goes away. I could ask one of the cisco engineers tomorrow (UK time) to get a better answer.

Come to find out the Cisco Switches were indeed the issue. The automatic power level setting had to be changed to the the max and the issues stopped.

Thanks for the help!
