How do I add reasons codes on a pacticular skill.

isaacman,

you can't do this. reason codes are set system-wide with 'ch reason' command. the limit is 10 codes (0-9), 0 is the default.
starting with cm3, you can order extended aux reason code feature, which allows you to use two-digit codes (0-99). this feature requires cms with "expanded aux reason codes" software load.

I do have CMS running. Is there a way to force them to enter a reason codes. I did noticed that option ch reason codes.

isaacman,

before cm3 it was done system-wide on the 13th page of "ch sys fe", setting "aux work reason code type" field to "forced". starting with cm3, you can do this either system-wide or by skill.

isaacman,

and don't forget to change reason code names in cms to match these in switch. it's more useful to see descriptions rather than digits.

If you only want to force reason codes for one group of people, you can do the following.

On "change sys feat" change the "Aux Reason Codes" field to "forced."
Then, on the stations of all of the people that you DO want it forced for, make sure that their "Aux-work" button has nothing in the "RC" field. When these people press the "Aux-Work" button, it will ask them to "Enter Reason Code" on their phone display.
Next, on the stations of all of the people that you DON'T want it forced for, make sure that their "Aux-Work" button has a "0" in the RC field. When those people press the Aux-work button, it will automatically put them in Reason Code 0, which is default.

After that, you'll want to go into your CMS and add the Dictionary names for Aux Reason codes so that you can see them on the reports. Otherwise, you'll just see the 1 digit number.
