Autostart cd on Mac/root level

I am using toast to burn a cd with a Director movie. I want to make it an autostart cd for the mac. In toast, I get the message that the file I want to be an autostart file, must be at the root level of the volume. I have no idea what this means. How do I make, or put, this director movie projector in the root level of a folder that I am burning onto a CD? Thanks.
