Hi,
I'm using a task list in spps. I assigned tasks to each user of the IT department. A task has an expiration date. I would like to know if it's possible to automatically send an email to the assigned user when the expiration date is reached and the task is not done.

Thanks in advance!

Mathieu

Hello,

This is as far as I know not possible out-of-the-box.
You might be able to create a webpart or some code that will trigger an e-mail once the exp. date has been reached.

Unfortunately I do not have any programming skills.

Regards,
Thomas

Hello,

As thomas told you already this is not a standard function, ofcourse it could be done, but the questions is if you realy want to do it because i can only think of messy solutions.
Because there are no event handlers for these lists there is no event you can catch. So you need to periodicaly check the listitems trough the object model and send an email when something has expired and set a flag or something to make sure the email doesnt get sent twice. Sending a email you can do in any programming language.

Greetings
