I'm trying to set up a Filter in Gmail to automatically respond with a certain "canned response" (new feature in gmail) any time I receive a "payment received" message from Paypal matching certain criteria. I want the response to go to the buyer. I thought this would happen by default, because it does when you manually respond to the "payment received" messages. However, the Gmail seems to want to send the canned responses to "payment@paypal.com" instead.

I guess manual responses go to the "reply to" address, but automatically ones go to the actual sender instead for some reason.

Can anyone think of a way around this, so the automatic responses instead go to the "reply to" address?

Ok, if what I requested specifically isn't possible, are there any alternative solutions any one can think of?

I would like to sell coupon codes on Ebay, and would like to set it up so once I'm notified of payment, the code is sent. IDEALLY there'd even be a database of codes, and the set up smart enough to automatically progress to the next code for the next buyer.

Any ideas on how to do this?

I suppose if you're going to have a database with codes in it, you'd be better off hosting something on a PC? You'd get more flexibility regarding rules, too.
