Hi ,

My system is configured with Windows Xp professional. I have an 80GB HDD which has 4 partitions. When I double click on C drive, the drive doesnt openup, instead, it shows a message like Open control panel for configuring. When I right click on C drive, there is 'AutoPlay' Option. I can open c drive by rightclicking on the drive and clicking on Open. The other drives are fine.. Can any one please give me some tips to remove the default one(Auto Play). Thanks in Advance.

Antony

Look in the root of the C: drive for a file called

autorun.inf or
autorun.ini
(You might have to enable the View hidden and system files from the tools menu in explorer)
and rename it to autorun.bak or something similar. Then reboot. It should then remove the autoplay option. If everything works as expected then go bakc and delete the file you renamed.
