I'm trying to import new data into an existing table in Access. When I import the new records the autonumber field doesn't automatically assign the the next autonumber. For example, my existing list goes to 9000, after importing the next record instead of being 9001 is 5400324, and is then incremental after that. How do I make it so that the autonumber will automatically go in order ?

Autonumber is not particularly predictable. What I would do is copy out the data to another table, then drop your original table and re-create it. Now autonumber is set back to 1. Load in your data up to 9000 - I think it will accept existing values. Now insert your new records and hope they go from 9001 upwards.
