I have an AutoNumber field in a table that I change to a number field. Boo Boo. I now want to change it back and ensure all the records have the same number they currently have. That field is linked to other fields in other tables.

Does anyone have an idea if this can be done?

I think you can copy and paste table to a new table without the records. Then change the former autonumber field to an autonumber field. Append all the records from your current table to the new one with the old autonumber field appended into the new autonumber field.

Finally remove integrity from the old table and rename it. Rename the new table to the old table name and reset the relationships.
