Hi,

What I currently do is : I run stored procedure in Sybase using SQL Advantage. Store the result in xls file and import that xls into Access to create table.

But this requires lot of manual process before I get the data into Access and start working on it.

I was just wondering if there is any way of "automating" it to make life simple.

Any help/suggestion will be highly appreciated.

Thanks,
Prasad

Hi Ken,

Could you please elaborate how would I able to do that ?
The stored procedure which I run in Sybase has very complex logic. Is there any way in Access of calling stored procedure in Sybase and creating table from its output ? Or do you suggest reimplementing stored procedure in Access ?

Thanks for your response.

Regards,
Prasad

Hi

As is often the case with my "good" ideas, I cannot say exactly how you do it!!, but it is possible to run MS-SQL Stored precedures in Access, using (I believe) pass through queries. If you can do it in MS-SQL I would think you can do it in Sybase

Hi Ken,

You are right, using pass-through query I am able to run sybase stored procedure.

Thank you for pointing me in right direction.

Cheers,
Prasad
