I keep getting this error message when I run several of my Word automation modules. Usually, I just end the runtime error, and proceed to run it again. The module will usually complete its routine without a hitch. Now I'm getting this error message 50% of the time, which is annoying my users. Does anyone know what this means, and what I can do to resolve it?

Thanks.

Did anyone every find out what was causing this problem?

Hi allanon,

No, unfortunately it is still unsolved. But I will let you know once we find out how to rid ourselves of this problem.

I have had the same problem (for 2 years) and cannot figure out why. I create word doc from Access, run subs and functions within Access to populate the word templates.

If I do one word and exit Access before starting the next word creation, all is OK.

I once read an article talking about the Access word server being left open and that using word.quit should kill it. However, I have not had any success with this either.

Please let me know if you ever resolved this problem.

I get the same problem with automating Excel from Access and have found that by setting all my object references to nothing (Workbooks, Worksheets, ranges, etc) before doing the .quit.

Having never automated word I don't know the object model too well. Hopefully this points you in the right direction though.
